Salt River is particularly known for its role in the annual International Public Art Festival (IPAF), where artists from around the world are invited to create large-scale murals. During the festival, the neighborhood comes alive with creative energy, and the walls are transformed into works of art that often carry powerful social and political messages. The Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (Zeitz MOCAA) in Cape Town is the largest museum dedicated to contemporary African art. Located in a repurposed grain silo at the V&A Waterfront, it features over 100 galleries spread across nine floors. The museum showcases work from both established and emerging African artists. Donald Greig love for Africa’s wild spaces, and his burgeoning artistic talents, led him from wildlife photography to creating his first sculpture – a tiny elephant for his children.
