With all the wine tasting behind us. And enough alcohol bought by everyone that we could probably have opened a bottle store of our own. It was time to take the group to Cape Town City to be close to some of the city’s shopping hotspots. However, our last adventure was for Bridgette and Dourga to do some horseback riding on the endless beaches of the Noordhoek beach.

Dourga had the spirit of travelling, she had never ridden a horse before. And wanted to do it. Although slightly apprehensive. She had the attitude of SEIZING THE MOMENT. Which, was infectious and made us all very proud. When we picked them up, we could see she loved every minute of it.
We joined the rest of the group after they finished their breakfast. And hit the Atlantic coastal rode to head to Cape Town.
Venturing over the scenic Chapman’s Peak ( BMW vs Mercedes if anyone remembers the story! ).Β We stopped at various points for photos while making our way over Suikerbossie Hill through to Camps Bay before descending into the city centre. We unloaded the luggage at the Happy Rhino Hotel.Β Ubered through to the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, Cape Town’s foremost shopping destination. We had a pub lunch at the Mitchells Brewery.
I enjoyed hearing about the music tastes of Harri and Pravin. And helped Harri buy some CDs. (Old school – you buy the albums of the artists you enjoy – you don’t download them without paying!) With lunch coming to an end it was time for me to head home.
Before seeing the group off to the airport the next morning. But not before a speech of thanks by Mr. Ram to Christelle. Who was instrumental in organising the trip as well as paying thanks to me.

I left to go home to get an early night. Before seeing my guests off in the early hours of the morning the next day. Fast Forward to the moment at the airport when we parted ways. Two, of my group stayed for an extra week. So I was saying goodbye to the rest but I speak of the entire group of 12 below.
I am grateful to every one of you for making this trip special for me. If the world had more people like you in it. It would be a better place for all 7 billion living in it. You are kind, caring, compassionate, funny, and gentle souls that made the pleasure all mine while looking after you. Maybe that’s why Mauritius is such a special place: because of people like you. It was upon leaving Mauritius after a holiday that my Dad proposed to my Mom on the flight home! So without Mauritius, I may not have entered the world! So this was a tough Bon Voyage indeed.
There was a sign on Pub that I worked at many years ago that read something along these lines. “I am going to alter it to adapt to my group”
“This blog is dedicated to those splendid souls. Who makes drinking a pleasure, who reaches contentment before capacity, and who? Whatever the drink, can take it, hold it, enjoy it, and remain Ladies and Gentlemen”
